Britney Spears Obituary

Britney Spears died on Sunday night when the hair dryer she was using fell into a sink full of water. She was 27.

Spears’s death comes after years of controversial behavior. Once an innocent southern girl, Spears shocked the world as she made a series of questionable decisions. On January 3, 2004 Spears married longtime friend Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas for only 55 hours. That same year she became engaged and married to her former backup dancer, Kevin Federline. After only two years of marriage and giving birth to two children, Spears filed for divorce.

Spears first rose to fame in the 1980s in the TV show “The New Mickey Mouse Club.” She starred alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. Timberlake became the stars longtime boyfriend and Spears even promised to save her virginity for him until the two could be married. Their relationship ended after four years.

After the New Mickey Mouse Club was cancelled Spears returned home to Louisiana. She was soon itching to return to show business. In 1998 she dropped her first album, “…. Baby One More Time.” Appearing in her hit single “ Hit Me Baby One More Time” wearing a revealing Catholic Schoolgirl Uniform, Spears received a lot of criticism but also gained her stardom. “Other artists, like Christina Aguilera and Jessica Simpson, at the time couldn’t keep up with Britney,” said the Sony record manager, Mark Ducane. “She changed the face of young female artists everywhere.”

“….Baby One More Time” was followed by the number one selling album “Oops I did it again” in 2000. Spears then headlined her first feature film “Crossroads,” in 2002.

That same year Forbes Magazine named Spears the world’s most powerful celebrity.

In 2003, at the MTV Music Awards, Spears raised eyebrows after kissing Madonna during their performance of  “Like a Virgin.” She gained more media attention as custody battles and attacking the paparazzi became widely known.

In 2007 she infamously shaved her head after the salon workers refused to do it.

“Hot sexy Britney will live on forever. Shaved corrupted Britney will live on forever. And talented, passionate, loving Britney will live on forever,” said longtime friend, Michelle Meyers.

Spears was born on December 2, 1981. She is survived by her parents Jamie and Lynne Spears, her sister Jamie Lynn, her brother Bryan and her children, Sean Preston (3) and Jayden James (2).

Plans for a public memorial have not been determined.
