Britney Spears Profile

1. Britney Spears died on Sunday night when the hair dryer she was using fell into a sink full of water. She was 27.

2.  Spear’s death comes after years of controversial behavior. Some account of this: marriage to Kevin Federline, paparazzi chases (media seeking behavior), head shaving, questionable parenting

3. Spear’s first rose to fame in the late 1980’s with Disney Channel’s  “The New Mickey Mouse Club.” She starred alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake Christina Aguilera. Timberlake became the star’s longtime boyfriend and Spears even promised to save her virginity for him until the two could be married.

4. Transition to music career

After “The New Mickey Mouse Club” was cancelled, Spears returned to Mississippi. She was soon itching to return to show business. In 1998, she dropped her first album, “Hit Me Baby One More Time.” Which occurred with her first controversy.

5.  “Hit Me Baby One More Time” was followed by the album “Oops, I Did It Again” in 2000. Spears then headlined her first feature film, “Crossroads,” in 2002.

6. That same years, Forbes Magazine named Spears the world’s most powerful celebrity.

7.  In 2003, at the MTV Music Awards, Spears found herself in trouble once again after kissing Madonna during their performance of “Like a Virgin.”

8.  Spears was born December 2, 1980. She is survived by her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, her sister Jamie Lynn, her brother Bryan and her children, Sean Preston (3) and Jayden (2).

9. Plans for a public memorial have not been determined.

Britney Spears died on Sunday night at the Circus Circus hotel in Las Vegas when the hair dryer she was using fell into a sink full of water. She was 27.

Spear’s death comes after years of controversial behavior. Such behavior included her marriage to former backup dancer Kevin Federline on October 6, 2004. The two filed for divorce four years later after much hostility. Britney sought the media’s attention with contentious chases such has shaving her head, sporting a pink wig, and beating a car with an umbrella. Spear’s has also been criticized for questionable parenting of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden. Photos were posted of her feeding her children soda and driving her children without child seats. 

Spear’s first rose to fame in the late 1980’s with Disney Channel’s “The New Mickey Mouse Club.” She starred alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. Timberlake became the star’s longtime boyfriend and Spear’s even promised to remain a virgin until the two could be married.

In 1998, she dropped her first album “…Baby One More Time” which hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100.  Her hit single “Hit Me Baby One More Time” on the album brought the first of many controversies. The video featured Spear’s dressed in a revealing Catholic Schoolgirl Uniform baring her midriff which was soon to become her trademark.

“Hit Me Baby One More Time” was followed by the album “Oops!... I Did It Again” in 2000.  Adding to her music and dance careers, Spear’s took on acting as well. She headlined her first feature film, “Crossroads,” in 2002. 

That same year, Forbes Magazine named Spears the world’s most powerful celebrity. This established Spear’s influence and impact worldwide.

In 2003, at the MTV Music Awards, Spears found herself in trouble once again after kissing Madonna during their performance of “Like a Virgin.” This brought back memories of Spear’s exposing outfit five years ago in “Hit Me Baby One More Time.”
