Famous Pop Star Dead

Britney spears died Sunday night when the hair dryer she was using fell into a sink full of water. She was 27. The incident occurred in the Circus Circus hotel in Las Vegas.

Spear’s death comes after years of controversial behavior. In 2004, she married Kevin Federline, one of her backup dancers and the father of her two children. This shocked many of her fans, as Spears and Federline had only known each other for 3 months. They had a short-lived reality show on UPN, “Britney and Kevin: Chaotic,” but it ended after the first season. The two divorced in 2006. After the divorce there was a long custody battle over the couple’s two children. She is known for her questionable parenting, like the time she drove with her son in her lap without a seatbelt. In 2007 Spears attacked a paparazzo’s car with an umbrella and led them on chases. “She had more than a bit of a wild streak,” said Federline

Spears first rose to fame in late 80s within TV’s the new Mickey Mouse Club. She starred with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. Timberlake was Spear’s boyfriend and she promised to save her virginity for him until the two could be married.

After The New Mickey Mouse Club was cancelled Spears returned home to Louisiana. She was soon itching to return to show business. In 1998 she dropped her first album, “…Baby One More Time,” which created controversy over the revealing schoolgirl outfits she preformed in. The album was the top seller of 1999. “I don’t know why people were so offended by the outfit,” said Spears, “it was just innocent fun.”

“…Baby One More Time” was followed by the album “Oops!… I Did It Again” which topped the charts in 2000. Spear’s first feature film, “Crossroads,” in 2002 was poorly received. In that same year, Forbes Magazine named Spears the most powerful celebrity in the world. In 2002 she earned over $39.2 million. “She was a musical genius,” said her agent Sam Lufti.

She was briefly married in early 2006 to childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander but the marriage was annulled after only 55 hours.

Spears later shaved off all of her hair, allegedly to escape drug charges. “She was just trying something new with her hair,” said her father Jamie Spears. She lost custody of her children not long after this incident.

In 2003 at the MTV music awards Spears found herself in trouble once again after kissing Madonna during their performance of “Like a Virgin.” At the MTV awards 4 years later she gave what the BBC said was “the worst performance ever to grace the MTV awards, she lost synch with the music at times and just stopped singing altogether at others.”

Spears was born on December 2,1981. She is survived by her parents, Jamie and Lynn Spears, her sister, Jamie Lynn, her brother, Bryan, and her children, Sean Preston (3) and Jayden (2).

Plans for public memorial have not been determined.
